We were tasked with making up a world, imagining a character that would inhabit this world, and then creating the clothing that this character would wear.

I took inspiration from traditional women’s garments such as corsets and hoop skirts which are constricting, controlling, and suffocating. I wanted to reimagine these garments into something that celebrates women’s bodies, as well as our sense of self expression and personal power, as a way to take back control of our bodies and the garments we choose to decorate them with.
